The pods get ripe in August to September and remains on the trees till the winter.

This tree persists to be a famous decorative silk tree due to its showy flowers and fragrance. The growth of mimosa silk tree is very fast and can also be used as an unconventional bonsai. It is also known as acacia silk tree.
