Silk Fabric

Silk is a type of fabric which is woven into clothes. It is derived from the cushion of silkworm larvae. No other type of silk fabric has the same quality.

Silk has been well known as an aesthetic and comfortable fabric from many centuries and one connects it with success and wealth. Silk is considered as the oldest textile thread which is identified to mankind.

Chinese has been using silk since the 27 th century BC. Silk is revealed by Aristotle and soon develops into a precious product in Rome and Greece. During the period of Roman Empire, silk was retailed according to the weight in gold.

Silk is derived from the French word ‘soie’ which means the powerful natural thread. It is also known as elegance and the outfits of silk are esteemed for their comfort, wearability and versatility.

Silk takes up moisture so it quickly makes it cool in the summer and hot in the winter. It can be painted in many different colors without any difficulty because of its high absorbency. Silk holds its outline, embraces the shape, hangings well and shines with a luster.

The outfits of silk are worn by every person including men, women and children at home and while going out in the evening and also worn as a sports wear. The garments of silk can be worn in all the seasons.

Silk is a versatile, elegant and easily washable. The fabrics of silk can be washed easily by hand. It does not reduce in size as compared to other fibers. Silk dry up very rapidly but it should not be kept in an involuntary dryer till the fabric is dried using an automatic dryer before garment creation.

Silk can be washed using a good shampoo as it can eliminate oil and rejuvenate the silk. An alkaline shampoo or such ingredients like petroleum, wax and their by-products should not be used since these products can leave a scum on the silk and can produce oil spots.

Varieties of Silk Fabric

It is made up of 100 percent pure silk. The weight of this silk fabric is 720g. It is a plain color silk fabric in large varieties of color and is available in high quality and reasonable prices.
